Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann officially kicked off her 2012 campaign for the presidency Monday morning in the town where she was born, Waterloo, Iowa, entering the race at a time when the latest polls are showing her near the top of the field of declared candidates. Her announcement comes one day after appearing on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace.
While appearing on Fox News Sunday Chris Wallace asked Michelle Bachmann, “Are you a flake?”
Michele Bachmann answered the question with dignity and grace. “"Well, I think that would be insulting, to say something like that, because I'm a serious person."
Bachmann said that she has been married 33 years, is a lawyer, has a post-doctorate degree in federal tax law, worked in the U.S. federal tax court, has five children, raised 23 foster children and opened a charter school for at-risk youth.
"I've also been a state senator and a member of United States Congress for five years. I've been very active in our business. As a job creator, I understand job creation. But also I've been leading actively the movement in Washington, D.C., with those who are affiliated with fiscal reform," Bachmann said. Watch a video and read more at Fox News.
